Residents of Isla de Maipo now have access to the first Unimarc supermarket in the commune, marking the chain's third opening this year. This new store is part of the 21 locations previously operated by Montserrat and now integrated into SMU's organic growth plan, one of the main initiatives of its 2023-2025 strategy.

The newly opened store, Unimarc number 292, is located at Avenida Santelices 641 and features 877 square meters of retail space. It highlights efficient energy use with LED lighting and refrigerated units with doors, along with six self-checkout stations designed to streamline the customer checkout experience. The store offers a selection of over 6,700 products, including SMU's own brands and items from Unimarc's 100% Nuestro program, which supports the development of local suppliers.

Lionel Gubler, Unimarc's Format Manager, emphasized, "Here, you will find a top-tier supermarket offering a wide range of products to meet everyone's needs, along with attractive promotions to help the community's budget. We remain committed to being closer to families across Chile and making our customers' lives easier."

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the commune's mayor, Juan Pablo Olave, and community representatives.

This new store contributes to local employment, with 90% of its workers residing in Isla de Maipo. The mayor appreciated the opening and stated, "I want to highlight the contribution of this new store to the municipality's employment efforts, as well as the revitalization of local businesses and entrepreneurs who will benefit from the increased foot traffic."

With this opening, Unimarc continues to execute its expansion plan, reaching more customers with an attractive value proposition that simplifies their lives.
