SMU Launches New "Unidos" Campaign to Support Fundación Las Rosas and Club de Leones de Magallanes

SMU and its subsidiaries have launched a new edition of the "Giftcard Unidos" campaign, aimed at raising funds to support the Club de Leones Cruz del Sur de Magallanes and Fundación Las Rosas, two non-profit organizations that make a positive impact on the community. Customers across Chile can participate in this campaign by purchasing gift cards at Unimarc, Mayorista 10, Super10, and Alvi supermarkets, as well as online at www.lagiftcarddechile.cl.

Between August 1 and September 23, SMU will donate 10% of the total gift card sales to these organizations, with the funds being evenly distributed between the two. With 292 stores in 162 municipalities across 16 regions of Chile, the campaign is designed to help those in need in every area where SMU operates, fostering a collaborative effort among customers, the company, and the community.

Marcela Salas, Sustainability Manager at SMU, emphasized, "As in previous years, we are once again launching the Unidos Campaign to contribute to society. As a company, we seek to connect with the people who live in the areas where we are present, and that's why we invite all families to join this initiative. Purchasing this Giftcard is a meaningful act that directly supports two social organizations benefiting a large number of people across the country."

The Club de Leones Cruz del Sur works on the rehabilitation of children, youth, and adults with disabilities in the Magallanes Region, while Fundación Las Rosas focuses on caring for vulnerable elderly people, helping them live with dignity in its 28 centers throughout the country. This partnership covers the needs of two key groups for SMU.

Alejandro Vásquez, General Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Days in Magallanes for the Club de Leones Cruz del Sur, noted, "The gift card campaign is a very significant solidarity activity that allows us to secure the resources needed for our institution, which benefits the quality of life of many people who rely on this help. We invite everyone to be generous and join this campaign, as this will allow us to support this great cause."

Tatiana Viveros, Director of Development at Fundación Las Rosas, explained, "We believe this is a powerful initiative that serves a dual purpose, especially as we approach September, addressing needs such as the Fiestas Patrias bonus while also offering the chance to extend a helping hand to those who need it most, such as the residents of Fundación Las Rosas. We thank SMU for inviting us to participate in this campaign again and also invite all friends of the elderly to use this gift card and support the Homes of Fundación Las Rosas, where more than 2,200 elderly people live."

This new edition of the Unidos Campaign builds on previous campaigns held in 2020, 2022, and 2023, which also successfully supported social organizations focused on the elderly, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
