The residents of San Esteban have access to the first Unimarc supermarket in the area, marking the chain's fifth opening so far this year. This store is part of SMU's organic growth plan, one of the main initiatives of its 2023-2025 strategy.

The newly opened store, Unimarc's 294th location, is situated at Av. Arturo Alessandri Palma 50 (Local 1) and features 865 square meters of sales floor. The store emphasizes energy efficiency with LED lighting and refrigerated units with doors, along with six self-checkout stations designed to streamline the customer checkout experience. The store offers a selection of over 6,000 products, highlighting SMU's private labels and items that are part of Unimarc's "100% Nuestro" program, an initiative that promotes the development of local suppliers.

Lionel Gubler, Unimarc Format Manager, emphasized, "Here, you will find a top-tier supermarket that offers a wide assortment of products to meet everyone's needs, as well as interesting promotions to help our neighbors' budgets. We will continue fulfilling our purpose of getting closer to families across Chile and making our customers' lives easier".

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the mayor of the commune, Christian Ortega, and community representatives.

This opening contributes to local employment generation, as 65% of the workers in this new store live in the San Esteban commune. The mayor appreciated this opening, stating, "This Unimarc is very important to us for the service it provides and for being a source of employment for our neighbors. We face a challenge in accessing the city of Los Andes, and today, with this supermarket, residents will be able to access the services it offers right here in our own commune".

In this way, Unimarc continues executing its expansion plan, reaching more customers with an attractive value proposition that makes their lives easier.
