SMU Launches the Teletón 2024 Giftcard and Reaffirms Its Commitment to Inclusion

For the fourth consecutive year, SMU—the parent company of Unimarc, Alvi, Mayorista 10, and Super 10—has launched the Teletón Giftcard, a solidarity campaign that allows customers to contribute 10% of their gift card purchases to the Teletón Foundation. The campaign will run from September 24th until November 9th, and the cards will be available at SMU stores' checkout counters or online at www.lagiftcarddechile.cl.

How does it work? From the total amount loaded by customers for personal or gift purchases, the company will donate 10% to Teletón. The donated funds will help supply Teletón's 14 rehabilitation centers, ensuring that resources reach those who need them most.

Teletón Giftcards can be purchased at the checkout counters of SMU subsidiaries: Unimarc, Alvi, Mayorista 10, and Super 10, with a minimum amount of $2,000. They can also be bought online at www.lagiftcarddechile.cl.

We want to invite our customers to make a meaningful purchase that, beyond simplifying their shopping, helps Teletón continue its invaluable work and the positive impact it has on patients and their families," said Paula Coronel, Corporate Manager of People and Sustainability at SMU.

This year, Teletón has partnered with SMU to design a special edition of the gift card. However, regardless of the design, all cards purchased during the campaign will contribute to the same cause: supporting the rehabilitation and care efforts at Teletón centers throughout Chile.

With this initiative, SMU reinforces its commitment to social causes and inclusion, adding this campaign to other charitable efforts, such as the "Unidos" initiative and support for various social organizations that the company has carried out since 2020.

Since 2011, SMU has been a part of Teletón, involving the commitment of its employees across Chile. The company’s activities are closely aligned with labor inclusion, reflected in the fact that 339 people with disabilities are currently employed across its subsidiaries.
